Editorial Work

I have a number of editorial roles.

First and foremost, I am Associate Editor of Advanced Engineering Informatics (Elsevier). In this role I handle around 500 submissions to the journal, where I screen the submission, assign reviewers, and take decisions on rejection, revision or acceptance of manuscripts. This gives me deep insights into the working of a major academic journal, and also keeps me at the cutting edge of a wide area of work that combines informatics with applications in building and civil engineering.

Beyond this, I am member of the Editorial Board of four other journals:

  • Applied Energy (Elsevier)
  • Energy and Buildings (Elsevier)
  • Building Simulation Journal (Springer)
  • Journal of Building Performance Simulation (Taylor and Francis).

In the role of Editorial Board member I review articles submitted to these four journals.

Further editorial work involves the occasional work as Guest Editor of special issues. I have done several that are complete, including a SI on Climate Change Adaptation for Building and Environment, SIs based on EG-ICE workshops in Advanced Engineering Informatics, and a SI on the Energy Performance Gap for JBPS.
